The Ivanovskiye Lakes are located on the eastern slopes of the Kuznetsky Alatau, between the Bobrovaya and Ararat peaks. They take their name from a well-known Siberian gold manufacturer, Ivanitsky, who had a gold mining business in the area.
The Ivanovskiye Lakes are four lakes of karst origin. The upper lake is connected to the lower lake by a forty-meter waterfall. The lakes are surrounded with snow fields that do not melt even in summer, alpine meadows, mountain streams, and waterfalls.
In the summer, the Ivanovskiye Lakes attract hikers to the mountain slopes. People forage for mushrooms and berries here and even go fishing. In winter, extreme sports lovers come here to descend the mountain slopes near the lakes.

Since studying beginner Russian with Michael it has given me a bit more of an understanding into learning Russian. I had already learnt a small amount of Russian before our lessons but I had many unanswered questions so it has been excellent to start from the very beginning in a well structured manner so that I could cover the bases. Michael was very patient with my sometimes bizarre questions and was very helpful. I look forward to carrying the lessons on when I return back to Krasnoyarsk.
